Exciting events for all ages
Maryland arts lovers frequently cross the Bay Bridge to enjoy spectacular events at the Queen Anne’s County Centre for the Arts in Centreville. Opening receptions for graphic arts exhibitions, black-and-white photography exhibits, and painting exhibits all draw visitors from the Eastern Shore, other Maryland counties, and other states.
Another popular event, now in its 21st year, is Heck with the Malls, presenting dozens of artists and crafts people selling their wares for holiday shoppers. Queen Anne’s Centre for the Arts also sponsors a FREE summer concert series, Shakespeare in the Park, and an unusual and highly popular High Tea party which includes a new theme every year (the 2018 theme is Jane Austen). Our classes include interior design, painting and drawing, dance, music, tai chi, and more. The Storytelling Festival held at Chesapeake College is a must-see as are concerts by Queen Anne’s Chorale, productions by The Church Hill Theatre and the galleries and shops in the Historic Stevensville Arts & Entertainment District.
