With theater venues large and small, numerous galleries, and a thriving Arts & Entertainment district, Prince George’s County is brimming with art experiences for all.
The Gateway Arts & Entertainment District – Maryland’s largest district and one of its first – has been nurturing the arts in Hyattsville, Brentwood, North Brentwood, and Mt. Rainier since 2002, with artist studios, galleries, public art, and tons of great dining options to keep art enthusiasts fueled.
The county also boasts cool arts organizations like Joe’s Movement Emporium and Pyramid Atlantic, diverse cultural experiences at places like the Prince George’s African-American Museum and Cultural Center and Quest: arts for everyone, and world-class venues like The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center.
The Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council is the local art agency that supports arts activity within the county, with a focus on stewarding public art projects, fostering artist residencies in schools, and supporting an annual Festival of Literary Arts.
