With more than 500 cultural organizations in and around the Arts & Entertainment District in Bethesda, Silver Spring and Wheaton, Montgomery County offers a variety of arts activities to enjoy all year. Art seekers can explore the county’s robust public art collection, which may be found throughout the county near landmarks such as the Silver Spring Metro Station and Imagination Stage.
Music lovers can enjoy the sounds of jazz at the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival, live music at the Fillmore Silver Spring, and world-class performances at Strathmore, home to performing and visual arts with 16 acres, three venues and eight presenting partners. Arts offerings continue with classes in pottery at Glen Echo Pottery, visual art at BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown, performances at the annual World of Montgomery festival, and exhibits featuring Montgomery County artists at the Betty Mae Kramer Gallery in Silver Spring.
